Soft systems methodology

La Soft systems methodology (SSM) és una metodologia de modelització de processos organitzatius i es pot utilitzar tant per a la resolució de conflictes com per a la gestió del canvi. Va ser desenvolupat a Anglaterra per acadèmics del Departament de Sistemes de la Universitat de Lancaster a través d'un programa de recerca al llarg de deu anys.^[1] La Soft Systems Methodology és el resultat de la recerca que Peter Checkland,^[2] Brian Wilson^[3] i molts d'altres^[4] han dut a terme durant més de 30 anys per proporcionar un marc conceptual per a persones que s'han d'enfrontar amb situacions problemàtiques i no tenen una definició formal del problema.^[5]^[6]
